Starship Technologies makes first robot cheeseburger delivery

Online food ordering and delivery business Delivery Hero Group and Starship Technologies have launched a robot food delivery pilot program in Europe.

Operating under the Foodora brand, the program was rolled-out in Hamburg today.

“In the future, we view delivery robots as an integral part of modern life for businesses and customers.”

Delivery Hero CEO Niklas Östberg said: “We’re always looking for innovative ways to meet the needs of our customers, and this joint pilot program with Starship Technologies is a really exciting step on our journey towards creating an amazing takeaway experience, while at the same time offering a zero emissions delivery.”

Starship Technologies CEO Ahti Heinla added: “For us the partnership with Foodora is a great chapter in our efforts to offer convenient and fast deliveries to more customers. In the future, we view delivery robots as an integral part of modern life for businesses and customers, and we’re looking forward to further expanding our pilot programs around the world.”
